Pace سلام שלום Hasîtî शान्ति Barış 和平 Мир
English:
Say Peace in all languages! The people of the world prefer peace to war and they deserve to have it. Bombs are not needed to solve international problems when they can be solved just as well with respect and communication. The Internet Internationalization (I18N) community, which values diversity and human life everywhere, offers "Peace" in many languages as a small step in this direction.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's show the world how people of many nations can cooperate to accomplish something small, which can be a first step towards accomplishing something bigger. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SAY "PEACE" in a language that is not listed or filled in below (or that needs correction), please send it in and we will add it to the table (please also let us know whether you wish to be given credit). As new entries arrive, we will add them to the table and also try to add them to the PEACE FLAG. Unicode UTF-8 encoding is preferred for submissions and is used in this page (but we will accept text in any form or character set). The Code in column 1 of the table is the ISO 639-1 language code (or 639-2 for languages that don't have 639-1 codes). Locations in the Where column might not be absolutely precise and comprehensive. Country names in their full, native-script, former, and/or alternative forms can be found HERE. The table is in language-code order, since any other order would either favor English or make no sense.

Other Peace Pages:
After starting work on this page, we discovered some similar ones (mostly in Roman letters, in most cases without accents), from which we borrowed some entries: Paix, Peace in Every Language, the San Antonio Peace Center, the Kids Club's International Peace Dictionary, World Peace, and Que a Paz Prevaleça no Mundo. In fact there turn out to be quite a few such pages, meaning many people had the same idea, which is good! This page differs from the others we've seen by showing "Peace" in the native script for each language and showing it as text rather than inline graphics (even when a non-Latin script is used) so you can copy and paste it into other applications, search for it, etc.
And a Book:
M. Kabattchencko, V. Kochurov, L. Kohanova, E. Kononenko, D. Kuznetzov, A. Lapitsky, V. Monokov, L. Stoupin, L. Zagorsky (Soviet Educators for Peace), Peace in 100 Languages, A One-Word Multilingual Dictionary, Jalmar Press, Rolling Hills Estates, CA (1992), ISBN 0-915190-74-5. This one arrived after we already had 200+ languages, but it still yielded a couple new ones.
Disclaimer:
This page does not necessarily reflect the policy or position of any group, department, institution, company, state, or nation. Entries might contain errors; corrections are welcome. Many more languages exist than are listed. Language classifications are sometimes controversial (it has been said that a language is a dialect with a Navy). Please feel free to submit valid examples for any nonfictional language you know, living or historic.
Notes:
We do not show alternative representations such as Braille, Morse Code, Semaphore, International Code of Signals, etc, which could apply to many languages (not just English). As a point of interest, however, note that the "peace sign" ☮ is constructed from the semaphores for N and D (Nuclear Disarmament).
Language names are presently English only, spelled as in ISO 639-2 (if present; otherwise common English spelling).
Country and region names are in English; see Links below for native-language/script country names.
"Generic" ISO 639-2 codes are assigned by the authors for languages not explicitly included in ISO 639-2.
As of early 2003, very few browsers can show the Gothic or Etruscan entries.
Latin transcriptions might not be entirely systematic.
Alphabet choices for certain languages (e.g. Bosnian, Serbian) might be controversial. We attempt to err on the side of inclusiveness.
Native-script representations of "Peace" in some languages are missing: Bisaya, Cree, Ojibwa, etc.
Scripts that have not yet been encoded, and therefore can not be shown as text, include Akkadian, Egyption, Mayan, Glagolitic, ...
